BMW M5 F90 (2018) 0-313 km/h Topspeed acceleration

Powering from 0-62mph in only 3.4 seconds*, the BMW M5 is ready to move. What’s more, it integrates intense performance with the M xDrive all-wheel drive system and high-precision gear changes with the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission. Add to this the first ever carbon roof on a BMW M5 and there’s plenty to catch your eye.

Four wheels are better than two.

Through combining the agility and precision of the standard drive with the smoothness and traction of all-wheel drive, M xDrive with Active M Differential allows for even more intense performance in the BMW M5.

M xDrive controls the torque distribution between the front and rear axle via a regulated clutch, engaging the front axle only when it senses that the back wheels have reached the absolute limit of their grip. In doing so, maximum driving dynamics are achieved on every road.

600HP
The M TwinPower Turbo 8-cylinder petrol engine found in the BMW M5 leaves nothing to be desired. The high-revving V8 Bi-turbo engine has two TwinScroll turbochargers with variable turbine geometry, High-Precision Injection and a fully variable Valvetronic valve control, and unleashes 600hp and a maximum torque of up to 750Nm.

Performance-orientated.
The BMW M5 has been tailored to help achieve peak driving performance. With some of our latest BMW ConnectedDrive features, in combination with the BMW Connected+ app, the BMW M5 is more connected and capable than ever. Whether it’s the M specific instrument cluster, Driving Assistant Plus with Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go function or the M specific BMW Head-Up Display, the BMW M5 connects your worlds and delivers the ultimate driving machine.

Central intelligent unit.
The central intelligence unit enables the propulsive forces to be distributed to the wheels according to the situation and with full variability.

Active M Differential.
By optimising drive torque distribution among the rear wheels, Active M Differentials improve driving stability when changing lanes or accelerating out of a bend.

4WD Mode.
In 4WD Mode, the M xDrive is designed with a view towards optimum controllability and outstanding traction.

4WD Sport Mode.
Even greater agility and sportiness is achieved in the 4WD Sport Mode. Even with M Dynamic Mode activated, drivers can achieve a controlled drift.

2WD Mode.
In 2WD Mode with DSC deactivated, only the rear wheels are powered.

Distinctively M.
It’s clear that the BMW M5 is derived from the same genes that created the rest of the M family, yet it is also a pioneer amongst the pack. Key to its weight loss from its predecessor is the addition of the new carbon roof; the first to ever be installed on an M5.

Other distinctive M features include 20″ M light alloy wheels style 706M, M Twin Tailpipes, striking M kidney grille with High-gloss Black double slats and M mirror caps with aerodynamic winglet.
