Toyota GR Corolla v Honda Civic Type R: DRAG RACE

It’s time for a Japanese head-to-head!

We’ve got our hands on the Honda Civic Type R, and it’s going up against an imported Toyota GR Corolla! But which will come out on top? Let’s take a closer look at the stats.

Starting with the Honda, it’s powered by a 2-litre 4-cylinder turbo engine that produces 329hp and 420Nm. This power is sent to the front wheels only via a 6-speed manual gearbox, and the car weighs in at 1,429kg. As new, it costs from just under £52,000.

Next up, we have the GR Corolla, which has been imported from Japan by Whiff Bitz. It’s powered by a 1.6-litre 3-cylinder turbo, which creates 304hp and 370Nm. This power is sent to all four wheels via a 6-speed manual, and it tips the scales at 1,475kg. It’s available to buy from Whif Bitz for £45,000.

So the Type R has more power, but the GR Corolla has Four Wheel Drive! There’s only one way to find out which will win… LET’S RACE! For more content like this one follow us also on Facebook, Pinterest or Instagram!
