Every Audi S8 DRAG RACE

We’ve got every generation of Audi S8, and we’re about to find out how far this luxurious cruiser has evolved over the years! Let’s take a closer look at the stats.

The first Audi S8, the D2, was unveiled in 2001. It was powered by a 4.2-litre naturally-aspirated V8 that produced 360hp and 430Nm. This power was sent to all four wheels via a 5-speed automatic gearbox, and it weighed in at 1,750kg. As new, back in 2001, it cost from £61,399.

Next up in 2005 was the D3. It housed a 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 under the bonnet, which created 450hp and 540Nm. It’s equipped with four-wheel drive and a 6-speed automatic gearbox, and it tips the scales at 1,940kg. When new, it cost from around £71,000.

Up next, we have the D4. It’s powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8, and this produces 520hp and 650Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed auto gearbox, and it weighs in at 1,975kg. New in 2012, it cost from £79,000.

Then, finally, we have the latest generation, the D5. Just like the D4, it’s powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8, and this creates 571hp and 800Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed auto gearbox, and it’s the heaviest car here, weighing in at 2,220kg. It’s also the most expensive, coming in with an eye-watering £118,000 price tag!

So how will this one play out – will the D5 prove its dominance? Or will one of the older models spring a surprise? There’s only one way to find out for sure… LET’S RACE! For more content follow us also on Facebook, Pinterest or Instagram!
