Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S v AMG EQS 53: DRAG RACE

How’s this for an AMG vs AMG line-up?! We’ve got Mat in the most powerful petrol-powered AMG, the GT 63 S E-Performance 4 Door, and he’s going up against Yianni in the AMG EQS 53!

So let’s see how these two behemoths compare. Starting with the GT, it’s powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 coupled with an electric motor. They combine to produce 843hp and an incredible 1,400Nm! It’s pretty heavy, though, tipping the scales at 2,305kg. And it’s super expensive, with a new one costing at least £174,000!!

Then we have the EQS. It’s equipped with dual electric motors which combine to put down 761hp and 1,020Nm. Amazingly, it’s heavier than the GT, coming in at 2,580kg. But it is a bit cheaper, costing ‘only’ £161,000.

So what do we think – a clean sweep for petrol power? Or could the EQS snatch it? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!
