The 1725HP BMW M140i is the result of an insane journey to build one of the fastest Gen 1 B58-powered cars in the world. Starting with an X Drive-converted M140i, the build evolved through multiple engine setups, including a fully sleeved B58, forged internals, GSC cams, massive turbochargers, upgraded fuel systems, lightweight body panels and increasingly stronger transmissions. The final 3.2L setup features oversized pistons and rods, upgraded head studs, a Garrett GXR45-82 turbo capable of around 1800HP and a custom Stage 3+ gearbox.

After breaking multiple records and reaching incredible 100-200 km/h times, the M140i finally delivered a world-record quarter-mile run for a Gen 1 B58. But chasing huge power comes with a price. After months of development, broken driveshafts, crank pulley failures and engine problems, the car suffered another dramatic mechanical failure just as the hunt for a 7-second pass was heating up.
