715HP Audi A5 TDI Diesel vs 750HP Lamborghini Aventador SV! 10-Second Drag Race

715HP twin-turbo Audi A5 diesel racing a Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster

A 2012 Audi A5 diesel taking on a Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster sounds like an extremely unfair drag race. But this is no ordinary diesel Audi! Built by APA Performance, this heavily modified 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 TDI produces an incredible 715bhp and 1300Nm of torque, delivered through an automatic gearbox and quattro all-wheel drive. Despite retaining much of its everyday appearance and being driven to the event, this diesel sleeper has already recorded a 10.56-second quarter-mile at 131mph, putting it right alongside some seriously expensive supercars.

Its opponent is a Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster, featuring a naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 producing around 750bhp and 680Nm. With two solo quarter-mile attempts, a best-of-three drag race and planned rolling races, the showdown promises plenty of action. The Audi initially takes the win, but the second head-to-head ends in dramatic fashion when its turbocharger fails, sending oil and smoke out of the car. The Aventador records a best of 10.72 seconds at 132mph, while the Audi’s 10.56-second pass makes it the quickest car on paper. An incredible diesel-versus-V12 battle that proves never to underestimate a tuned TDI! For more content like this one follow us also on Facebook, Pinterest or Instagram!
