A Mercedes AMG A45 with a 1956 Pickup Body?!

A45 AMG Pickup Swap

This is definitely a crazy build! A 1956 Mercedes pickup of Morne Greeff and his company Mo’s Restorations (Moshinz) in South Africa. The body comes from a the 1956 Mercedes 180D “Ponton” (W120) sedan converted to a pickup when it was imported to South Africa in the 50’s. Morne literally put the shell of the 1956 pickup over a Mercedes A 45 AMG (W176) chassis and powertrain! That means in the engine bay is a turbocharged 2.0L M270 inline-four making 376HP (280 kW) and 475Nm of torque. This makes a 4WD Pickup that puts down is power through a AMG Speedshift seven-speed DCT.

It rides on an AMG sports suspension and 350×32 front brakes and 330×22 rear brakes. Covering those are widened Mercedes 18-inch steel wheels with classic hubcaps. Morne even retained the A45 interior including the steering wheel with paddle shifters, leather seats, door cards, and power windows! Crazy right?! Check out the pictures below to see how it turned out and share this one also with your friends.
