Best-Sounding Drag Race Ever? Porsche Carrera GT vs Lexus LFA

Porsche Carrera GT racing against a Lexus LFA in a V10 drag race

Two of the greatest naturally aspirated V10 supercars ever built go head-to-head in an incredible Germany vs Japan drag race. On one side is the legendary Porsche Carrera GT, powered by a 5.7-liter naturally aspirated V10 producing 612 hp and 590 Nm. With its power sent exclusively to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox and a lightweight 1,380 kg body, the Carrera GT is every bit as dramatic to drive as it is to hear.

On the other side is the iconic Lexus LFA, featuring a 4.8-liter naturally aspirated V10 producing 560 hp and 480 Nm, with power sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed automated transmission. Both cars are regarded as automotive masterpieces, and both produce one of the most unforgettable V10 soundtracks ever created.

With the Porsche offering more power and a significant weight advantage, the Carrera GT appears to have the performance advantage on paper. However, the Lexus LFA has its own weapon in the form of its incredibly fast-revving V10 and automated gearbox.

This is not simply a battle between two supercars, but a clash between two legendary interpretations of the naturally aspirated V10. With the Carrera GT now valued at around £2 million and the LFA reaching approximately £750,000, these are also two extremely valuable automotive icons. So, which legendary V10 will win this spectacular drag race, and which one sounds the best? There is only one way to find out. Let’s race!
