The Honda Civic FN2 Type R has often lived in the shadow of the EP3, but this Nürburgring example has been heavily prepared to show what the later-generation Civic can really do. The engine remains largely standard, while cooling upgrades, a 5.3 final drive, competition coilovers, upgraded brakes, sticky Yokohama Advan A052 front tires, lighter rear tires and a race-focused interior transform the car into a serious Nordschleife weapon.

Behind the wheel, the FN2 Type R proves to be an extremely playful car, with its stiff setup and rear beam suspension allowing plenty of rotation and controlled slides. With temperatures soaring, no air conditioning and even the cameras struggling with the heat, the Nürburgring lap becomes a proper test of both the car and driver.
