850HP BMW M3 vs 860HP Ford Mustang: DRAG RACE

It’s time for two tuned RWD monsters to go head-to-head over the quarter-mile!

First up we have Mat in an F80 BMW M3. Normally this would be powered by a 3-litre twin-turbo straight-six, however in this instance, the two turbos have been switched for one massive turbo, and as a result, it can produce 950HP and 1100Nm of torque!

However, it can only hit that much power on a prepared surface while it’s rolling on drag slicks, and seeing as we have neither of them, the power has been dialled down to 850HP & 950Nm.

Next up we have the Mustang. Under the bonnet it’s powered by a 5-litre V8, however, this one has had a supercharger added to it, so the output is now 859hp and 902Nm!!

The BMW also has one key advantage over the Mustang – it comes with an automatic gearbox, while the Mustang is a manual! Will the transmission prove the difference? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!
