No Prep Drag Racing in Japan with JDM LEGENDS! (Japanese Street Style Shootout) Drag & Track by turboandstance - June 25, 2025 In this episode, TRC goes to Super Drag Festival at Central Circuit in Japan! This isn’t just another event for us, it’s a full-circle moment. The same streets and tracks that sparked our love for imports years ago are now in front of their lenses. Some of the very first tuner drag videos we ever watched came from Japan, and now they are fhere filming it! Drag racing in Japan may not be in the spotlight like drifting or circuit racing, but it has deep roots. In the ’80s and ’90s, the scene started with “zeroyon”, 400-meter street races late at night. Tuners built GT-Rs, Supras, RX-7s, Civics, anything they could launch hard and run straight. Eventually, the street scene gave way to the track. That’s where Central Circuit came in. Since opening in 1996, it’s become the home of Japanese drag racing, featuring the only full 400-meter strip in the country. Events like Super Drag Festival continue to bring together racers, tuners, and fans to keep the culture alive!
