It’s time for a Germany vs Japan showdown!
We’ve got Mat in a BMW E46 M3, and he’s going up against racing driver Sam in a Mk4 Toyota Supra!

But, this is no ordinary E46, as under the bonnet is the same 2JZ engine as found in the Supra! The two of them are going to go head-to-head over the quarter mile, with the winner staying on to go up against a Mk5 Supra, which is, of course, powered by a BMW engine! So let’s take a closer look at the stats…

Starting with the BMW, it’s been fitted with a 3-litre turbocharged straight-six 2JZ engine, along with £30,000 worth of upgrades. As a result, it now produces 507hp and 678Nm. This power is sent to the rear wheels only via a 6-speed manual, and it tips the scales at 1,650kg. All in, it’s worth around £45,000.

Alongside it in the first race, we have the Mk4 Supra. It’s had around £2,000 worth of upgrades fitted, and it’s also powered by a 2JZ, although in this instance it retains the twin turbos as found in the stock car. It produces 406hp and 569Nm, with this power sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual. It tips the scales at 1,570kg, and it’s worth around £36,000.

The winner of this race will stay on to face the Mk5 Supra. It’s completely stock, which means it’s powered by a BMW 3-litre turbocharged straight-six that puts down 340hp and 500Nm. It’s equipped with an 8-speed auto gearbox, which sends this power to the rear wheels. It weighs 1,495kg, and it weighs 1,495kg. When it was on sale, it sold for £52,000.
