BMW M4 vs 500HP Diesel: Nobody Expected This BMW to Be So Fast Acceleration & Sound by turboandstance - September 9, 2025October 4, 2026 The BMW F82 M4 goes head-to-head with one of the most unexpected BMW challengers imaginable: a heavily modified 435d xDrive built by Darkside Developments. The M4 brings a 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six producing 431hp and 550Nm, sending its power exclusively to the rear wheels through a 7-speed gearbox. The 1595kg coupe faces a very different kind of BMW in the form of the tuned diesel 435d. Under the bonnet, the 435d’s 3.0-litre twin-turbo diesel has been upgraded with a Stage 2 turbo, larger fuel pump, bigger injectors and larger air intakes. It produces 485hp and a massive 1200Nm of torque, with nitrous oxide capable of increasing output to 520hp. Add xDrive traction to the equation, and the diesel sleeper has some serious weapons of its own. With another car waiting in reserve for the M4, this BMW showdown could get much more interesting than the numbers initially suggest.
