Three generations of the Audi RS5 come together for a very unusual drag race. The original brings a naturally aspirated 4.2-litre V8, the second generation swaps to a twin-turbo 2.9-litre V6, while the latest RS5 takes the same basic engine concept and adds hybrid technology. On paper, the newest car has a huge advantage in power and torque, but there is one major difference that could change everything.

The latest RS5 produces a combined 639hp and 825Nm, but it also weighs a massive 2,355kg. The older cars are considerably lighter, with both generations producing 450hp.
